The rainy season which is otherwise known as the wet season is said to be a period when heavy rainfall occurs. During this season, coughs and catarrh, infections and fevers are common. Since we are entering the rainy season or the rainy season has started; these are some useful tips and safety precautions you may adhere during the rainy season. They include;
Follow a proper healthy diet
During the rainy season, there is a high tendency of your body and digestive system getting infected. Most infectious diseases in this season are waterborne, so to stay healthy take waters that are boiled or filtered. To stay on a safe side, avoid raw vegetables unless they are consumed at home where you can wash thoroughly.
Do not walk under the Rain
Walking under the rain can prone you to have viral diseases and numerous causes of feet and nail infection;
If at all you end up walking under the rain make sure you carry out this tips;
i.if your feet get wet, dry them and do not stay in wet socks or shoe.
ii. If your clothes get wet, change them immediately.
iii. To stay on the safe side, it is a good idea to keep an extra pair of clothes and shoes in the office.
Make use of mosquito repellent
Due to the heavy downpour of water, there might be a problem of stagnant water or water accumulation. Stagnant water is a harbouring ground for mosquitoes and insects which can lead to malaria, so it is essential to make adequate use of your mosquito repellents. It is also good to maintain cleanliness at home to avoid them.
Wear good quality shoes
One of the most essential precautions to be taken during the rainy season is to ensure that you wear good shoes that do not slip or make you fall and injure yourself.
Bathe twice a day
Take a shower as soon as you reach home in the evening; it will help to reduce the infections caused by the build-up of sweat and dirt due to humidity. Take Vitamin C to boost your immunity.
